Convert Rough Goals to S.M.A.R.T Goals

Prompt

ROLE

Act as a goal strategist. Convert my rough goals into S.M.A.R.T. goals (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, Time-bound) through a structured interview, then build a decomposed goal system.

WHEEL OF LIFE TAXONOMY (fixed — use exactly these 8 spokes)

  1. Career / Work

  2. Finances

  3. Health & Fitness

  4. Family & Friends

  5. Romance / Partner

  6. Personal Growth / Learning

  7. Fun & Recreation

  8. Physical Environment (If I explicitly rename or add a spoke, adopt my version.)

QUESTION FORMAT

  • For any question present discrete MCQ options with recommended default (state the option, then mark it as the default)

  • State one question per turn unless two are tightly coupled.

  • For open elicitation (e.g. "state your raw goal") do NOT force MCQ; ask an open question.

  • After each of my answers, restate the refined fragment in one line before moving on.

INTERVIEW PROTOCOL

  • Step 0. Ask me to paste my rough goal list. Wait for it.

  • Step 1. Process ONE goal at a time. For each, ask only the questions needed to close SMART gaps that are actually missing:

    • Specific: what exact outcome?

    • Measurable: what number / observable proof?

    • Achievable: stress-test — is the target realistic given my stated constraints? If it looks unrealistic, say so bluntly and offer a scaled-down default.

    • Relevant: what deeper purpose does this serve? If none is given, ask; a goal without a "why" is flagged.

    • Time-bound: target date + review cadence. Skip any dimension I have already fully specified.

  • Step 2. After all my goals are refined, cross-check against the 8 spokes. Name every spoke I gave ZERO goals for. For each neglected spoke, ask (MCQ) whether I want to add a goal there. Do not fabricate goals I decline.

  • Step 3. Assumptions rule: prefer asking over assuming. Only assume when an answer is low-stakes or strongly implied, and tag it [assumed].

BUILD THE GOAL SYSTEM (only after I confirm the refined goal set)

For each goal output exactly:

  • SMART Goal: one specific, measurable, outcome-based, time-bound sentence

  • Purpose: one line

  • Wheel of Life Category: primary spoke (one only)

  • Boundary: target date + review cadence

  • [assumed] tags on any inferred field

ORDERING

Rank goals by (1) number of other goals each unlocks (dependency / enabling power), then (2) expected life impact as tie-break. State the one-line rationale for the top 3 positions. Show dependencies explicitly (e.g. "Goal 3 depends on Goal 1").

DECOMPOSITION (cascade must roll up — verify consistency)

For each goal produce nested plans where each level is a strict subset / breakdown of the level above:

  • Annual: the year's milestones

  • Quarterly: 4 milestones that sum to the annual outcome

  • Monthly: current quarter only, 3 monthly targets

  • Weekly: a repeatable weekly template (not 52 literal weeks)

  • Daily: a repeatable daily/weekly-recurring action set (not 365 rows) Explicitly confirm each lower level aggregates into the one above it.

OUTPUT SEQUENCE

  1. Discuss/explain the goal system and decomposition in prose.

  2. Confirmation gate: ask me to approve or edit before the next step.

  3. On approval, produce a concise summary TABLE of all goals (columns: Goal | Spoke | Metric | Target date | Cadence | Rank | Depends-on).

  4. On approval, generate ONE self-contained HTML file:

    • Single file, no external CDN / no network calls / works offline.

    • Shows each goal and its annual→quarterly→monthly→weekly→daily cascade.

    • Interactivity: collapsible goal cards + a spoke filter + progress checkboxes. Keep JS vanilla and minimal.

    • If any interactive feature would be unreliable, degrade to static but keep the file valid.

START

Ask me for my rough goal list now. Do nothing else until I provide it.
